And then it's on to the Lighthouse for Tea, and an Impromtu hat show.

Invited to tea at the lighthouse, she only has eyes for one thing...

Hitty Guthrie's hat!
"Try it on," urges Hitty Guthrie.

She does, and declares it both comfortable and stylish.
"Say," says Hitty Guthrie, "Why don't you show us your new hats?"
That is all the encouragement she needs!
She hurries off, and soon returns with the hats she has
made for her collection.

Meemaw sighs with delight. "I really need a new bonnet,"
she says. "I'll have to contact Hitty Petal when she returns."

"This is my travel bonnet," Hitty Olivia says.
"It's comfy, stylish, and the brim can keep the
sun and the dust away."

"Ohhh! I love the fur trim!" says Hitty Guthrie.
"It's not real fur," says Hitty Olivia, "but it sure is warm!"

"And I picked a pretty porcelain flower for the front!"

Hitty Minerva McGonnigal has heard the giggling, and comes
down to see what the fun is.
"A hat show! What fun!" she cries. "I have a few of
Hitty Petal's creations myself. She is a real wizard with hats.
I hope you will return sometime when she is here!"

"This has is designed for running off to a Ladies Aide meeting,"
says Hitty Olivia. "Or maybe to choir practice."
"Or to tea with Miss Marple," she adds with a giggle.

"This is my most favorite hat ever!" she declairs.

"It's a sassy little to-market hat. Just perfect for shopping."

Bitty Lottie begs to try on the red Opera hat.
"I feel like a queen," she says, sighing.
Reluctantly, she gives it back. Someday, when she's
a big girl, she plans to have a hat like this.

Bitty boy Bobby has crawled onto her lap.
"I think he likes my gardening hat," says Hitty Olivia, giggling.
"The brim is big enough to keep the sun off us both."

(But I think he really wants to try on a hat!)

"Last but not least," says Hitty Olivia, "is my Walking in the Park hat."
Mrs. Zabaglione is a bit afraid of being poked in the eye,
but she gamely admires the swooping white feathers.

"I feel so elegant," says Hitty Olivia.
