Hitty Olivia has come from TC's house
to acquire some new hats for her hat collection.

Party.
"I have to earn my hats," she jokes.
But first, she has a visit with Miss Hickory and the Hickory children at the cabin.
Invited for lunch, she takes a few minutes to go into the attic bedroom
of the two Hickory children. Sister Hickory is playing with a little squirrel.

"It looks so real!" exclaims Hitty Olivia.
"I sure was fooled."

"Oh, no,we wouldn't have a real squirrel here.
We're made of Hickory nuts, you know," Sister Hickory confides.
"And Miss Hickory has a story about that. I think she said it
was a cauterary tale."
Hitty Olivia smiled. "I bet she said it was a cautionary tale."

Later, Hitty Olivia goes downstairs to play with
Baby Hickory and Eensy Hickory.
"What a pretty dollhouse," she says.

Eensy Hickory would love to live in this dollhouse,
but alas, it doesn't have enough room.

"Let's see," says Miss Hickory, scanning her pantry shelves.
"Where is the butter?"

Yummy! Miss Hickory has made Nut Stew for lunch!
Hitty Olivia loves the bowls made from acorn caps.
"Miss Hickory," she says, "not only is the Nut Stew
delicious, but how clever of you to serve it
in the acorn cap bowls."

Hitty Olivia says goodbye to Aunt Hickory.
"I am off to the workshop, to make hats!" she says happily.
"Have fun, sweetie," says Aunt Hickory. (Who
privately thinks one good sunbonnet ought to
be enough for any Hitty.)
