Fun Camp Facts
- There were 146 Hittys and Friends attending camp this year.
- The first fish of the Camp Week was caught by Hitty Barbara.
- At the first cook-out, the Hittys and their friends consumed 321
hotdogs (not counting those dropped into the fire) and 12 bags of marshmallows
(not counting those burned to a cinder), and drank 22 gallons of milk
(not counting the milk spilled across the tables).
- Not one Hitty fell off the horses when taking their first lessons.
- Opening ceremonies this year were replaced by a visit to the Pink
Flamingo Cottage.
- There was a fantastic and fun BIG CAMP SECRET.
- A visit to a Reading Library netted each camper a book from the
Library Book Sale.
- One camper arrived by parachute, and one arrived by rocket.
- Two campers were late for the BIG CAMP SECRET, but had lots of
fun anyway.
- Hitty Jellicakes won the Camp Scrabble Tournament.
- Every single camper passed the swim test.
- This was the first year that boys were accepted at camp.
- The return trip fee for the campers came to $148.72
- A total of 305 gallons of locally produced Frontenac Spring Water
was consumed daily.
- The infirmary treated a total of 72 stomach aches, 93 skinned knees,
14 bumped noses, and 1 case of hives. No homesickness was reported.
- Mr. Giles, AGA Librarian, read aloud the first three Harry Potter
books to the campers.
