The Making of the 2006 Camp Mini-Hittys

PageThree--Stringing!

The Camp Mini-Hittys start out as 100% Cotton Premium Muslin.
The pattern is first traced onto the double-layered muslin, as shown above.
I trace enough arms and legs for 21-22 bodies, to make up for any that do not make the grade.
Usually, only 1 extra body is sewn.
This year, we modified the 2005 pattern slightly.

Sewn with a stitch length of 1.50 and reinforced at key areas.

A fray-check product has been used to help prevent raveling.

Once cut out, they are turned right side out, using a hemostat.

I always use 100% wool roving for stuffing, as it provides a firmly stuffed doll, and is easy to use.
A hemostat is essential in this step too.
