Essays, Scholarships, and Challenges
| In 2003, we had our first Essay contest entitled: Why I Love Summer Camp. The two winners were two Thompson girls. In 2004, we decided everyone should have some fun with us, and we opened the essay contest up to any Hitty person. First, we had 'How I Take Care of the Wildlife in my Neighborhood" with a prize of two full scholarships to Camp. That year we also had a poetry contest, entitled "Why I Love America". In 2005 the essays included "My Favorite Pet", with a Scholarship as the prize, and "Why I Like Summer". In 2006 we decided not to hold an essay contest, and instead, had the Great Redwood Fair Booth Challenge. Anyone was eligible to send in a Booth, and receive a Special Edition (limited to 12) signed and numbered Camp Hitty Paperdoll set. |
